“The main reason I came to CTC was because many of my siblings and cousins were already here. They highly recommended this school as a perfect preparation for the GCE A-levels and undergraduate study at top universities in the UK. Since I have been here, I have experienced just that. CTC has provided me with opportunities that I would not have had if I had studied elsewhere. The academic preparation I get here is top-class, and the small classroom environment ensures that my study is active and my teachers approachable. The weekly test periods ensure every student has a firm grip of the subject and can be at their highest potential when taking the exams. The host family I lived with last year was very supportive and kind. They helped me adjust to the British environment and ensured a smooth transition to the culture. I am currently studying A-level Physics, Economics, and Maths, and hope to study Economics in university”.

Life at CTC
A safe and secluded location
The college benefits from a lovely park-side location in the London Borough of Croydon. The college is a few minutes’ walk from both South Croydon and East Croydon train stations. Croydon Town Centre is within easy walking distance.
A caring and supportive environment
Once a student’s application has been accepted the Welfare Department ensures that their start to college life goes smoothly. Staff in the Welfare Department are always available for any issues that students and parents may wish to discuss with them. Our students’ well-being is of the utmost importance to us and we ensure that our students remain happy and well supported during their time with us. Each student is allocated a Personal Tutor with whom they meet weekly. The role of the Personal Tutor is both pastoral and academic. Personal Tutors will help with any academic concerns, provide support and guidance with university applications as well as being available to deal with any possible non-academic issues.
A varied and well-organised activities programme
Sports and Activities coordinators organise a varied extra-curricular programme. Sports include table-tennis, football, badminton and volleyball. There is a range of lunchtime and after-school activities that students can join such as the singing club, debating society, photography club and the student magazine committee. Weekend excursions take place on a monthly basis and include trips to the tourist attractions of London and to theme parks. An annual trip takes place every February half term to Europe. Recent destinations have included Disneyland Paris, Barcelona and Rome.
Scholarships
We have a strong commitment to providing high-quality education to the brightest minds from all over the world. As part of our charitable status we are able to offer annual scholarships to grant greater access to the rich learning experience at CTC. The levels of scholarship that we offer international students at Cambridge Tutors College are based on the academic grades submitted upon application, and a student’s presentation during a Skype interview. For UK students, we operate three scholarship levels (up to 75% reduction) based upon final GCSE grades.
